Keter: The item requires around-the-clock Special Containment Procedures and  breaches containment frequently, with containment breaches causing an  abundant amount of casualties.

Vlam: The disruption caused by this item is localized to a small group of people.

Critical: The possibility of recovery from the anomalous effects of the item is impossible, always 100% lethality and death is instantaneous.

Revision 11/06/198█ | Special Containment Procedures

ANOMALY, KETER, EXSEQUI, IMPETUS, POTISSIMI, 173

SCP-173 is to be kept in an Advanced Sphere Entity Chamber at the end of the left hallway, Heavy Containment Zone, at Paragon Research Facility.

SCP-173 was formerly contained at Secure Containment Facility Site-26 before being transferred to Paragon Research Facility due to a lack of containment measures at Site-26.

SCP-173's chamber is to be cleaned by Class-D personnel with cleaning events occurring on a regular basis being conducted by MTF Eta-9 "Wardens". Personnel that are assigned to conduct research on SCP-173 are to always maintain eye contact with SCP-173 in order to prevent the chance of a containment breach and for the general safety of Foundation Personnel. Research Personnel that have not been trained to use the control system for SCP-173's Containment Chamber are to immediately notify the supervising Mobile Task Force for them to take over the control system.

In the event of a containment breach, Eta-9 have maximum authority, Foundation Personnel are to listen for flickering lights as well as the sound of scraping concrete as these are definite signs that SCP-173 is in a close proximity. During an SCP-173 containment breach, personnel are to evacuate immediately to the emergency shelter. In the event of the breach shelter becoming compromised, the shelter is to be opened by any personnel as soon as possible that have the clearance to do so.

SCP-173's preferred incapacitation method is grabbing an individual on their torso, then to decapitate said individual via their neck, killing them.

Re-containment of SCP-173 is to be primarily conducted by Mobile Task Force Eta-9 "Wardens" where an operative is to maintain eye contact with SCP-173 and attempt to put SCP-173 into a containment box. The containment box resembles a large , rectangular, wooden box.

If SCP-173's chamber is not cleaned within an indefinite amount of time, there is a possibility that the door control system may fail, which increases the possibility of a containment breach.

Description

SCP-173 is a sentient and violent statue-like anomaly made out of concrete and rebar. SCP-173 has two black eye sockets with white pupils floating in the center. Identifying SCP-173 in its containment chamber may be difficult due to the lack of light contained within that section of the Heavy Containment Zone. Recognizing SCP-173 during a containment breach may be difficult due to the dimmed lights, Foundation Personnel are to refer to SECTION 2 of the SCP-173 Special Containment Procedures. SomeRandomGuy_17 you really thought you could hide here?  Just make some space for me too! DJ_met04
If eye contact is broken with SCP-173, SCP-173 will teleport towards the subject and attempt to break their neck, incapacitating and killing the victim.

Addendum 173.1 | Initial Testing SCP-173:

Addendum 173.2 | SCP-173's Movement

Thanks to IconZXY's work we determined that SCP-173 can  move about 20 studs per jump.

Addendum 173.3  | SCP-173's 'Blinks'

As of the recent month, SCP-173 has been showing signs of further anomalous behavior, characterized by what the personnel of PRI have dubbed 'Blinks.'

This is most certainly a new ability that SCP-173 possesses. This may prove that SCP-173 is finally starting to adapt to his containment measures, and does this as a way to cause as much havoc as possible whilst within his limitations of containment via mental hallucinations of which are impacting PRI personnel.

Those experiencing effects of SCP-173 are encouraged to speak to members of MD for further help and treatment.

Addendum 173.4  | SCP-173 x SCP-1068

The following was forwarded to the Scientific command from Lieutenant "Apollyon",

1068 may no longer be cross tested with 173 as it may cause a breach, due to the fact that SCP-173 may be able to take advantage of the lights not being on.

Addendum 173.5  | SCP-173 'Blinking period'

Thanks to TheOminousEntity0's work, we learned that anyone staring at SCP-173 have around 8 seconds before SCP-173 will start suddenly moving again.
