SCP-173 is to be kept in an Advanced Sphere Entity Chamber at the end of the left hallway, Medium Containment Zone, at Paragon Research Facility.
Personnel that are assigned to conduct research on SCP-173 are to always maintain eye contact with SCP-173 in order to prevent the chance of a containment breach and for the general safety of Foundation Personnel. The transfer gate control system will not respond to any Non-command ScD members usage, requiring MTF operatives to handle it.
SCP-173's preferred incapacitation method is grabbing an individual on their torso, then to decapitate said individual via their neck, killing them. SCP-173 may also use "spike traps" to incapacitate individuals.
SCP-173 may create "fake" 173s to trick those its attempting to kill. Refer to Addendum 173.1 for more information.
In the event of a containment breach, Eta-9 have maximum authority, Foundation Personnel are to listen for flickering lights as well as the sound of scraping concrete as these are definite signs that SCP-173 is in a close proximity. Re-containment of SCP-173 is to be primarily conducted by Mobile Task Force Eta-9 "Wardens" where an operative is to maintain eye contact with SCP-173 and attempt to put SCP-173 into a containment box. The containment box resembles a large, rectangular, wooden box.
SCP-173's chamber is to be cleaned by Class-D personnel with cleaning events occurring on a regular basis being conducted by MTF Eta-9 "Wardens". If SCP-173's chamber is not cleaned within an indefinite amount of time, there is a possibility that the door control system may fail, which increases the possibility of a containment breach.
SCP-173 is a sentient and violent statue-like anomaly made out of concrete and rebar. SCP-173 has two black eye sockets with white pupils floating in the center. Identifying SCP-173 in its containment chamber may be difficult due to the lack of light contained within that section of the Medium Containment Zone. Recognizing SCP-173 during a containment breach may be difficult due to the dimmed lights, Foundation Personnel are to refer to SECTION 2 of the SCP-173 Special Containment Procedures.
If eye contact is broken with SCP-173, SCP-173 will teleport towards the subject and attempt to break their neck, incapacitating and killing the victim. SCP-173 may also use "spike traps", which can greatly damage an individual. These traps disappear after a short period of time.

SCP-173 may create hallucinations to trick personnel. These hallucinations appear the same as 173 apart from a lack of pupils, only have blank spaces where its "eyes" would be. Hallucinations cannot interact beyond serving as a distraction for the actual 173.
The greatest number of hallucinations observed has been 2 at the same time, but it is unknown if more could appear at the same time.
