SCP-1162 is to be housed within a standard Safe-Class containment chamber with the anomalous opening mounted flush against a reinforced interior wall. Personnel are prohibited from approaching or interacting with SCP-1162 without carrying an approved exchange item. Any object recovered from SCP-1162 is to be cataloged, inspected for anomalous properties, and quarantined pending evaluation before being released for testing or storage.
DESCRIPTION
SCP-1162 is a large, shadow-like humanoid hand emerging from an opening in an otherwise ordinary wall. While the hand itself has proven impossible to relocate, the section of wall containing the anomaly may be transported without affecting its properties. SCP-1162 extends from the opening whenever an individual approaches and will accept any item offered, consistently returning an object of equal or greater perceived value by an unknown metric. If no item is presented, the anomaly will instead seize the individual and provide no exchange. Recovered objects have included highly anomalous results, with common laundry items consistently yielding functional firearms regardless of their condition.
