How to Conduct a Test

This page describes how to conduct a test.

SECTION 1 — BEFORE YOU START

Before starting a test, make sure to check the following:

Check Your Rank Permissions

Make sure the anomaly you want to test is permissible for your rank. See the Anomaly Records for more information.

Check The Risk Class

Every anomaly has a risk class — Notice, Warning, or Critical. The risk class determines whether you need escorts and how many. Check the Anomaly Classification System page before requesting anything.

SECTION 2 — STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Step 1 — Prepare the Containment Chamber [NOTICE-CLASS TESTS ONLY]

If the test is a Notice-class, you must prepare the Containment Chamber. Grab the SCP that you are testing on from the Loading Bay and use one of the vacant chambers in the Cleanrooms.

Step 2 — Request Via Terminal

Open Terminal in-game and send a Class-D request. Make sure that you are at a Transfer Gate before sending a request. Requests should follow this command format: startevent [Low/Medium/High] [Amount of CDs] [True/False]

Notice-classed tests (or low-risk tests) have a maximum limit of two Class-Ds.
"True" is automatically the default choice to ensure that you have Class-Ds that are in the same age range as you on ROBLOX.
If you need escorts, please follow the escort hierarchy: Security Department > Mobile Task Forces (ETA-9 is required for Keter-classed SCPs).

Class-Ds who accept will change into a green test outfit and teleport to the Transfer Gate automatically. Wait for them to arrive before moving.

Step 3 — Move to the Containment Chamber + Conduct the Test

Once the automated briefing is complete, lead the group from the Transfer Gate to your SCP's containment chamber. Once you're at the containment chamber, conduct the test. Make sure that your instructions are clear to the Class-Ds.

Step 4 — Credit Class-Ds via Terminal

Open Terminal in-game and credit each Class-D who participated in your test. Rate their participation on a scale of 1 to 10 — this determines how many credits they receive (100 to 2950). Criteria for the scale should be:

Participated fully and followed test instructions; and
Were present for the entire test.

Crediting should follow this command format: reward [Class-D] test [1-10]

Step 5 — Write and Submit The Test

Write your test submission after your test has concluded. Follow the format for the type of test that you're doing.

NOTICE-CLASSED TESTS ONLY: Before filing the request, grab the SCP boxes needed in the Loading Bay and set up your testing chamber.

When requesting your test in the Terminal, make sure that you are inside one of the Transfer Gates.

SECTION 3 — SUBMISSION GUIDANCE

After completing the test, a submission must be made. There are several parts needed in the submission:

Test Question

The test question is the first step and your topic of the host. Test hosts must have a test question on what they want to research.

Test questions need to be ethical and follow the Code of Ethics.
Example: How does SCP-4966 interact with SCP-1200-46?

Hypothesis

Hypotheses are assumption statements that predict what they think will happen in the test.

Example: The consumption of SCP-1200-46 affects the transparency of SCP-4966.

Methodology

The methodology is the steps of the test and how the host got the results that they got.

Example: SCP-4966 will consume SCP-1200-46 and be observed by the test host.

Results

The results are the final part of the test that explain what happened in the test and if the test host's hypothesis was correct.

Example: After SCP-4966 consumed SCP-1200-46, the anomaly became transparent, proving the hypothesis correct.
