DESCRIPTION

SCP-457 appears to be a sentient being composed of flame. SCP-457's actual composition is unknown, and has proven to be invisible and undetectable by any known means, but is shaped out by the flames it produces, often assuming a human-like form if given sufficient fuel to assume that size. SCP-457's most rudimentary form appears to be that of a single flame, comparable in size to that of a matchstick. In this form, SCP-457 possesses only the simplest of directives and shows no signs of being unusual compared to any other flame beyond a penchant for suddenly flickering to burn human hands, and the ability to 'jump' to more flammable materials or other flames, which it then assimilates into its total form.

As SCP-457 grows larger, it is able to assume more complex shapes, and its intelligence grows with size and fuel sources. SCP-457's method of intelligence is unknown, but upon reaching an approximately human size, SCP-457 almost always assumes a human-like form surrounded by and composed of flames.

SCP-457 is, in its first stage, a sentient ball of red fire that will chase personnel in an attempt to merge with them to fuel itself to the reach the rest of its stages. Each stage signifies an increase in the heat of the flames. The stages of SCP-457 are as follows:

Red Stage: The flame is red and appears in the shape of a ball that will chase personnel. At this stage it is not capable of communication and will continuously repeat the word 'fuel'.

Orange Stage: The flame turns orange and the ball of fire grows slightly larger. Behaviour remains the same.

Yellow Stage: The flame turns yellow and becomes humanoid in shape. At this stage the flame may act docile if it is being fed enough fuel.

Green Stage: The flame turns green and behaves the same as in its Yellow Stage, aside from being much faster. This stage is only achievable through interactions with chemicals in chemical testing, or by being exposed to SCP-1730-5's 'Malice' curse.

White Stage: The flame turns white and the entity is now capable of speech. During this stage SCP-457 has been shown to be manipulative so as to make others join with itself willingly.

Blue Stage: The flame turns blue and its demeanour changes during communication to that of someone with a God Complex. At this stage the flames are hot enough to allow SCP-457 to phase through doors.

Purple Stage: The flame turns purple and the entity duplicates itself. The duplicate will then almost always use its 'supernova' ability to breach. This is the final and most dangerous stage of SCP-457.

ABILITIES

Hell-fire Beam: SCP-457 charges up its flames and shoots a beam of fire at the target, upon which it will effect the nearby surrounding area. This ability can be used during its Yellow Stage onwards.

Fire Vortex/Whirl: SCP-457 will hit the ground to create a circle which, after around a second or two, a flame will appear in the center of the circle. Three of these flame pillars are able to be made at a time. This ability can be used during its White Stage onwards.

Solar Flare: SCP-457 will float above the ground and grab an orb from above itself. It will then hold it, draw it back and fire it at a target. It is able to pass through walls and will instantly kill anything that is hit. This ability can be used during its Blue Stage onwards.

Nova Combustion/Supernova: SCP-457 will begin to glow and take the shape of a star after which two more stars will appear and begin to swirl around it. After each spin around the centre star they will begin to move closer to it. Once close enough they will merge and SCP-457 will create an explosion, killing any nearby personnel. This ability can only be used during its Purple Stage and then only with some additional fuel.

Splitting: SCP-457 will split itself into two instances. This second instance is unable to communicate and is controlled by the main instance. This second instance will burn out and dissipate if it runs out of fuel. This ability can be used during its Blue Stage onwards and only if supplied with adequate fuel.
