Code of Conduct
Table of Contents
Section I > Introduction
The following document outlines the expectations that all members of ScD must comply with. These expectations apply to all members while they are on-site or on any Official ScD Discord server. Non-compliance with any of the expectations outlined in this document will result in punishment.
It is important to note that members of ScD are not allowed to use loopholes to undermine the authority of this document. Using loopholes refers to finding and taking advantage of errors within the way an expectation is written to justify the violation of the general idea of the expectation.
Section II > On-Site Expectations
Keep in mind that while on the Scientific Department team at Paragon Research Institute, you are expected to follow the on-site regulations. It is important to note that all rules mentioned in the Code of Ethics are also applicable to members of ScD. If any team member is found to be violating the CoE, they will be reported to the Ethics Committee. Please note that the punishments listed for each offense are not necessarily the exact consequences for the violation. The punishment may be more or less severe depending on the severity of the offense and the decision of the issuer.
Light Infractions
All ScD members are to remain professional and mature while on-site on the ScD team.
All ScD members are required to use grammar while on the ScD team.
Grammar is not required in team chat. (/team)
While on the ScD team, all members must abide by combative orders.
All ScD personnel must represent ScD in a good light.
Hazmat suits may only be used for tests on infectious SCPs as well as during breaches and fifteen minutes after a bio-hazardous breach.
Conducting an experiment that involves more than 3 SCPs. (Variants of an SCP count as a single SCP, so SCP-1200-30 and SCP-1200-46 would count as a single SCP under SCP-1200 for example)
You must have all resources (Eta-9, Anomaly Actor, etc...) prepared before conducting a test so as not to waste anyone's time. (E.g. make sure you have Eta-9 personnel requested and ready before you request your Class-Ds)
Moderate Infractions
Intentionally angering SCPs.
Intentionally mistreating Lore characters.
Conducting an unauthorized termination attempt.
Conducting tests/interviews that can mentally harm an Lore character or sentient SCP w/o RM+ approval.
Utilising laboratory equipment without a lab certification.
Distressing SCP-131 to the point of it summoning SCP-131-GRY is extremely forbidden.
Should this happen during an attempt to collect samples from the SCP, then this will only count as a Light Infraction.
Researchers that have this happen as a side effect of a termination attempt or an unethical test are immune to this.
Severe Infractions
Entering a hostile SCP's inner containment chamber. (Exceptions may be granted)
Testing without a combative escort.
No ScD members are allowed to conduct self-testing. (This includes picking up/using SCPs on themselves other than SCP-662 or SCP-005

Failure of Scientific Department non-command personnel to follow command orders. (Research Supervisor+)
Failure to follow Code of Ethics on public servers.
Section III > Discord Expectations
ScD Discord expectations apply only within the ScD Discord server. The ScD Discord server is subject to the expectations and rules of the main Paragon Discord server. Any violation of these rules will be reported to the moderators, and the punishment will be the same as that which would be given in the central Paragon server.

All ScD members must be treated equally regardless of their rank.
